Practice

During regular season, practices will be held Monday through Thursday at 6:00pm at the City Park Practice Track. In the off season we will hold practices once to twice a week.


Equipment

Athletes must come prepared to all practices. Athletes must wear clothes and shoes that they are able to run in. Track Spikes are not necessary but encouraged. Athletes must bring their own water to EVERY PRACTICE. We suggest purchasing a refillable sports bottle.

About Us


Since the late 1970's the Metro Stars have been a staple in the New Orleans track and field community, making us the oldest existing team in the city. We have made it this far because we are a dynamic and family oriented team that focuses not only on building the athlete but also on building a better person. We train our athletes be the best they can be in not only athletics but also in every aspect of their lives. Over 85% of our athletes go on to attend four year universities with most having academic pursuits.


We believe in setting goals and attaining them. Our goal is always self improvement. At the end of the season we want to say, "He won 'this many' medals," or, "She jumped 'this much' further than she did at the beginning of the season." If he or she wins, that is great; but if our athletes run, jump, or throw personal bests consistently throughout the season, that is even greater.
